Spay - Neuter Program for Community Cats
Spaying and neutering are key to reducing cat overpopulation and keeping community cats healthy. By preventing unwanted litters, we help fewer cats end up in shelters and more find loving homes.
Why Spay & Neuter?
Prevents unwanted litters and controls cat populations
Reduces roaming, spraying, and aggressive behavior
The risk of mammary gland tumors, ovarian, uterine, and testicular cancer is eliminated!
No more annoying heat cycles (females)
Reduces the desire to roam
Helps cats live longer, healthier lives
Program Info:
Community cats are live trapped by their caretaker, “fixed”, and then released back to the area they know as home. The purpose of the programs is to reduce the homeless cat population therefore reducing the number of cats entering the shelter.
For community cats/kittens 2+ months old and 2 lbs or more
$40 per cat/kitten
Available to Wabash County residents only
Each cat receives spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies vaccine (when age appropriate), and an ear is tipped.
By spaying/neutering, you protect an individual cat and help improve the lives of cats across our community.
This program is only for COMMUNITY/Wild/Feral cats in Wabash County.
Interested? Call our shelter manager, Jennifer, at 260-563-3511.
Space is limited, and prices may change.
EAR TIPPING
If you see a cat roaming about and it’s missing the tip of an ear, it’s a badge of honor! It identifies that someone cared enough to have this neighborhood cat spayed or neutered, and vaccinated.
